1930 Ad- Angered Husband, Timid Wife.jpg

Kaffee Hag Coffee

In the 30s, women continued to be represented within the home and labeled as the main child care taker. This ad uses a female maid to represent the female role as care taker, however; the mother was not the woman shown interacting with the child.

During this time, women were placed in a position inherently less powerful than a man. The ad represents the notion that men were the martial party that held the power to criticize and women were forced to fall subject to their husbands.
